The research projects of this research area covers the following range: the monitoring of risk factors and the development over time of asthma and allergies in children – SCARPOL-Surveillance; research into protective factors against the emergence of asthma and allergies: ALEX, PARSIFAL, PASTURE/LUKAS; and the investigation of gene-environment interaction Innate Immunity-Project, GABRIEL. Together with European partners, researchers in this focus area organise and analyses large environmental epidemiological field studies in Switzerland.
